Ted – Commercial Business Analyst
‘’I’ve been at Kia for almost 2 months now, and instantly everyone made me feel welcome and part of the Kia family. My Parts and Accessories team have especially made me feel like this, I am treated as a valuable member and they have all been more than happy to help with any questions. A key aspect that has made this role enjoyable and valuable to me is that I can see where my work goes and how it is used. As an analyst it is important to have good excel skills, most of which I have learnt here and they are skills that I will be sure to use in my final year of university and in my jobs in the future. It isn’t just excel that I use, I have learned how to use various new programmes and systems. A highlight so far has been the e-Niro experience day which was really interesting to see how electric cars work, what they mean for the future, and of course the best part was to test drive it. The benefits here are amazing and unmatched by other companies offering placements, these include, free lunches, company cars, private healthcare, dress down Fridays, pool tables, table tennis, wii, and even massage chairs!’’
James – Business Analyst
‘’This is everything you could possibly want from a placement. The most noticeable thing for me is how welcoming and friendly everyone at Kia has been, particularly within your own team. No question is stupid and help is always on hand should you ever need it. The role is so dynamic – you’re given real responsibility on a number of creative projects and challenging analytical work that results in you meeting with suppliers in London and presenting to dealerships all around the country. Not only this but I’ve been on driving experiences, training courses, boat trips and even got to live out my cricketing dream by playing in a sponsors tournament at the Oval – I’ve only been here 2 months! The benefits package fit perfectly within Kia’s “Family-like care” ethos. Free lunches, cricket tickets, a company car and the daily pool tournaments at lunchtime are only a few of what Kia has to offer. The opportunities are truly endless.”
Shivam – Service & Quality Support Analyst
‘’Time and time again, the other interns and I wonder whether the company we join after our placement will be as good as Kia. We receive health and dental care just like any other employee whilst partaking in the various social programs after work to relax such as yoga, badminton and football. As an undergraduate, I didn’t have much experience in programs such as Access, Excel and SAP, but this has all changed in the past two months. I have been given a project to lead, liaising with external partners and different departments across the company. The best part about the work I receive from Aftersales and my Team is the ad-hoc work, this work usually isn’t related to something I do day to day specifically but allows me to explore different programs in depth to further grow my career opportunities in the analytics industry.’’
Callum – Product Marketing Assistant
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my first 2 months on placement at Kia. From day one it was clear that we, as placement students, would be valued and treated equally to any other colleague. Alongside many other ‘out of office’ days such as boat trips and cricket matches, I have had the pleasure of being able to drive and experience many of Kia’s model range, like the pioneering E-Niro, which was part of a training day focused around our ever-growing eco-friendly range. I’ve learned lots of transferrable skills since joining Kia and have played an important role in key projects such as competitor analysis and new model development. Working in the product team means I am a vital cog to the business as this is where all product and pricing strategies are developed, therefore there are always opportunities to expand your responsibilities. I can already tell that everything I am learning here will be invaluable not only to my final year of university, but my future career too.”
Lottie – Digital Marketing Assistant
‘’Although this experience is very new to me, Kia have made me feel so comfortable. As soon as I started I noticed that everyone was so friendly and this really helped me to settle in. Despite the fact that I had so many questions at the start, no one was hesitant to help with anything, whether that be helping me with the CMS or helping me decide what to have for lunch. The opportunities and benefits at Kia have so far been endless; having only been at Kia for not even three months yet, I have attended many exciting and new events. Not only has my knowledge and experience grown but also personal attributes such as my confidence. To summarise, my placement experience so far has been amazing and I look forward to the rest of my time with Kia.’’
Melissa – Press Office Assistant
‘’Being a part of Kia has already been the most valuable experience I have had in terms of building my career and establishing a thorough understanding of the Press and PR industry. It’s so rewarding to be part of a company that is constantly excelling as it creates a really positive working environment. Kia is always being praised and winning awards and you truly feel as if you’re an integral part of that. My role as Press Office Assistant has completely surpassed my initial expectations. The sheer range of opportunities I have been offered, from track days to award evenings to launches, has been unbelievable. I don’t feel like I’m “just an intern” in my role. My work varies from writing press releases, assisting on launch planning, maintaining social media channels and even liaising with bloggers to create content for Kia. It’s amazing to see something you’ve written circulating in the press! I couldn’t have asked for a more inclusive, constructive and opportunistic placement.’’
Olly – Brand Marketing Assistant
‘’I am now 3 months into my placement at Kia and I have absolutely loved it so far. It’s an amazing environment to work in, where everyone works really hard but there’s still lots of fun to be had too. I have been given big responsibilities as part of crucial campaigns for new car launches and brand partnerships. The highlight of my time so far was when I was recently given the task of running our XCeed Internal Launch. This was topped off by presenting a short film displaying all of our marketing activity in front of the whole company (including directors!). If that’s not enough then there are plenty of company perks: free lunches, company car, various events & days out and many more! I have loved every minute of my time here and look forward to what the rest of my placement has to offer’’
