About us

About us

If one thing above all else characterises Kia’s story, it’s growth. From its foundation as Korea’s first car manufacturer, Kia has become one of the fastest growing automotive brands in the world. With record annual sales for the past seven years in the UK alone, our development is set to continue.

A global business employing almost 47,000 people, we continue to drive innovation as we create outstanding vehicles that continue to win awards, making them best in class in terms of quality and safety. But we don’t just aim to create better vehicles, we aim to create a better world too. We recently handed over a new school and healthcare centre to local communities in Tanzania and Malawi.

George Whipp

Brand Marketing Assistant

‘’I’ve only been here for three months but I’ve learnt a huge amount and had some fantastic opportunities ranging from track driving days to a trip to Slovakia. Working in brand marketing has been very interesting and it is very rewarding seeing campaigns I have worked on being used on a national scale. Being part of such a friendly and welcoming team has made my first three months fly by. Every day offers something new, whether I’m visiting agencies in London, visiting Kia dealerships or working on tasks at the Kia head office. My tasks are not only interesting but challenging and rewarding and I look forward to what the rest of my time here has to offer.’’

Hannah Evans

Product Marketing Assistant

‘’The first few weeks of working for Kia and everyone has already made me feel like part of the family. You are treated as a valued member of the team with tasks that make you aim high and develop new skills. I have recently been given the responsibility of three models to look after by the Product team, which has been an amazing achievement. My induction involved travelling to Slovakia for training and visiting Kia’s state-of-the-art factory in Zilina. Since then I have also attended the Paris Motor Show which has given me a great insight into the vast and dynamic world of the car industry. Working for this amazing company comes with incredible benefits such as free lunches and a car scheme enabling you to drive and experience the Kia range. I know this experience will really help me with my final year of University and my future career.”

Hetta Burden

Digital Marketing Assistant

‘’One thing I noticed straight away on my placement is that everyone is so friendly and makes you feel right at home, as well as being part of the big Kia family. My placement has offered a range of opportunities and experience within my role so far, including using the CMS to manage and create digital content for the website and then analysing it to see if it is successful, as well as working on multiple varied projects which makes you feel that you are making a positive difference to the company which is truly fulfilling. In my role, I am always being challenged to grow, with not just my knowledge but myself as a person, with the help of my amazing team! Overall, my placement so far has been amazing, especially the team building days, free lunches, dress down Friday’s and a chill in the massage chairs.’’

Katy Bridges

Business Analyst

“I am three months into my time at Kia Motors UK and I can safely say, this is a once in a lifetime placement. I can’t emphasise enough how friendly and approachable every member of staff is, especially in the Customer Quality team. The Business Analyst role is dynamic as well as varied and you can be sure that Kia will provide you with just as much responsibility as any other employee. Even in the short amount of time I have been at Kia Motors UK I have been given endless fantastic opportunities and a never ending stream of creative projects and analytical work to get stuck into. As the Business Analyst you will have the opportunity to work with every department in Kia Motors UK, allowing you to make your mark on every aspect of the business. Already, I have gained invaluable experience and memories at Kia that I can take back to University and I will certainly miss once my time here has ended. The benefits package at Kia Motors UK is second to none, with free lunches, company cars and many more incredible privileges that fit perfectly with their Family Like Care ethos. Oh, and no matter what day of the year…there is always cake!”

Rebecca Gibbs

Press Office Assistant

‘’Working for Kia has been a dream come true. I’m only three months in and I have already gained invaluable experience and learnt so much! As interns we’re treated as staff members and not just students meaning we get real responsibility and make a difference to the company. Everyone at KMUK is friendly, fun and always up for a chat – meaning you’re always getting to know people across Kia’s different departments. The Press department are lovely and really welcoming, even in a short time period you feel like a valued member of the team and help is always there if you need it. My role is incredible and so varied, if I’m not in the office with the team completing different tasks and projects, I can usually be found at a car launch event or at an awards evening! The free lunches are an amazing bonus and the chocolate cake is definitely not the only thing I’ll miss about being part of the Kia family.’’

Sam Biccarino

Service Quality Support Analyst

‘’I wasn’t sure what to expect from a placement as an analyst other than working with data in Excel every day, but it is so much better than that. Despite only being here for three months so far, I’ve: been on two experience days, been to Slovakia for a week, had professional training, learned how to use various programs and systems, been assigned to a few projects (including one that I lead) and been given lots of tasks that are challenging and interesting in equal measure, with help always on hand to answer my questions – no matter how simple or complex they are – whenever I ask. The benefits here are amazing; I was expecting to feel like I’m missing out on not living the ‘uni lifestyle’, but it’s quite the opposite and now my friends that aren’t doing a placement are wishing they had after hearing about my experience here at Kia.’’
